I am a web designer. I recommend you HTML, XHTML and CSS. These are the languages used for web designing. For web developing you should learn PHP or ASP Language. HTML is used to create static websites but PHP and ASP is used to create dynamic websites.

You should learn HTML, XHTML and CSS first. After completing these you can learn PHP and ASP.

You can also learn these languages sitting in your home.

One thing you should think about is privacy options. The domain name is going to get registered to your name and contact information that you provide. Now when purchasing a domain name there are a few things to think of on the marketing side of things. You will probably want something easy to remember or easy to guess depending on your target audience. Also are you concerned if anyone registers the same domain as your but as a .org or .net or so on.

Several Things.

One is that the domain you like is good and should represent who you are or the name of your company or organization

Next, the suffixes are originally met for convention however not everyone follows it, for example:

.com – Company – used for most commercial and industrial companies
.net – Network – Often used for ISPs
.edu – Education – Often used for Universities
.org – Organization – used for
.biz – Business – Used for Businesses
.gov – Government – Used for government functions
.mil – Military – Used for Military
.int – International – Used for International Organizations
.us, .uk, .tv, .cc, .jp, .es, .il, .sa, .za, .br, etc – suffix used to represent a country of origin.

You should also look for a company that has good pricing and customer service.

As to features, all domains are the same you just have to set your DNS, A-Records, C-Records, and PTR records for your servers and you should be all set in a couple of days (DNS takes a long time to refresh).
