There are different methods and opportunities available you to start learning web design. These methods can be online or offline. In here, I’ll discuss with you most popular methods that most web designers (including me!) using to learn web design.

Drive to a Web Design Training Institute:

Once I followed a web design diploma, I spent over 0 for that. You may think that I became an expert in web design. Absolutely Not! Why? As my own experience some of them teaching just how to create a simple page with 2 or 3 paragraphs + images + a simple navigation! Is that enough you? It is difficult to find a good web design training institute and you may have to waste more time, effort and money.

Hire a Teacher.

I haven’t such experience, but I feel that it is better than first option if you have more money to spend (about 0 or higher!). You may learn web design with your teacher with discussion because the teacher is yours!

Use Free Online Stuff:

Some great resources can be found on the web to learn web design if you have no money to spend. It includes free tutorials, pdf files and videos. I’ve used them and learned more on web design. But the important thing is you should have at least basic understanding on web design to use these stuffs because these haven’t properly organized.

I will show you a small example to show you above drawback! At the begining my learning web design, I searched for “html tutorials” on YouTube, I got following results.

Video #2: HTML Tutorial 1 – Designing A Website In Notepad

Video #3: Beginning HTML (XHTML) Tutorial

I used this technique and I feel that it is more efficient than driving to web design training institute because you can learn web design at home and you need spent little money (nearly at 0). But it having a small drawback that I experienced – I had to type each and every codes that show in the videos.

This is a better way that I recommend most of web designers (including me!) who have no more money to invest on other expensive techniques. Plus I observed many more feature of this method that not having others.
