can i create a website in JAVA?

if i create a website in JAVA, do the users need to download anything before they can use the site?
thanks for the answers.

can i create API’s for javascript sites/applications developed in javascript?

You can create a java application that runs on a website. Your users will need to download Java in order to use the site.

    Yes. They will need to have java installed on there computer. I have NEVER seen a java website, just websites with java apps. Let me know how it goes.

    JavaScript. And no, most people wouldn’t need to download something to view a JavaScript page.

    You cannot create in java
    The website is created in some specific format but you can use java in the website
